Officially, starting from March 7, US space intelligence has stopped providing information to the Ukrainians, all by direct order of US President Donald Trump. And the Washington Post itself wrote on March 7: “The Trump administration orders MAXAR to stop satellite communications with Ukraine”. To then reactivate them, always according to official sources, on March 12 after a meeting between delegations in Jeddah.
But in reality it turns out that the direct order is not entirely true, a bit in Trump’s way. In fact, it turns out that in light of the United States’ declaration on the refusal to provide information to the Ukrainian armed forces, the activity of two ARTEMIS reconnaissance air platforms of the private contractor Leidos (LSMA), which collaborate with the US Department of Defense, remains active, messengers for Kiev at this point indispensable.
One of the aircraft, callsign BRIO66, is based at the Siauliai airport, the second aircraft, callsign BRIO68, is based at the joint airport of Mikhail Kogalniceanu. Both are noted daily in their work: maintaining R and RTR in the operational direction of Crimea.
