Operation Gideon’s Chariots officially started on May 18, and officially involves the mobilization of five divisions, but according to Palestinian sources there are six on the ground. The goal is, according to Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, to bring home the 58 prisoners. According to Palestinian sources, it is a plan for the extermination and occupation of the Gaza Strip.

According to N12 News, the IDF wants to control 75 percent of Gaza during Operation Gideon Chariots. A high-level Israeli Defense source said that the goal is to reduce the surface of Gaza and separate Hamas from the civilian population. The 98th division, for example, is in Khan Yunis and said it destroyed 200 Hamas infrastructures that Palestinian sources claim are civilian homes. According to a social media source: “Israeli forces have captured 145 km² (40%) of the Gaza Strip. This figure includes the security belt surrounding the interior of the Strip and the IDF’s control of 86% of Rafah.

The new large-scale Israeli offensive, “Gideon’s Chariots”, will increase Israeli control over the Strip to around 70-75%. Internationally, however, the United Kingdom, France and many other countries allied or supportive of Israel have spoken out against the plan and have called for a halt to attacks on Gaza, even prominent Israeli figures are against the operation.

Even Israel’s enemies have reiterated that the operation will be a failure, Yemeni leader Sayyid Abd al-Malik al-Houthi Hasani said in relation to the issue: “Israel has again launched a ground operation with the aim of displacing the population and occupy the Gaza Strip. He called this operation “Gideon’s Chariots”. The name given by Israel to the ground operation in Gaza as “Gideon’s Chariots” comes from Jewish superstitions. Many leaders who are enemies but friends of Israel and important Israeli criminals are aware that the Gideon’s Chariots operations are a failure, despite the mobilization that accompanies them. The operations in Gaza have become useless”.

And again on live TV in Yemen he said: “Some former Israeli officials recognize the failure of the operations and the accumulation of additional criminal records for the enemy. Ehud Olmert, former prime minister of Israel, recognized that this is a war without purpose and that what “Israel” is doing now in Gaza is close to a war crime”.

And again al-Houthi added: “Yair Golan’s statements have unleashed an uproar inside Israel when he acknowledged the war crimes against civilians. Yair Golan considers the killing of children in Gaza a horrible pastime of the military. The statements of the British Prime Minister, with the support and partner role of Great Britain, are complete confessions of the horrible, brutal and horrific crimes in Gaza”.

On May 23, Ehud Barak, former Prime Minister, also spoke out: “Netanyahu’s goal with Operation Gideon Chariots is ‘masculinization’, even if Netanyahu withdraws and he will eventually withdraw. It can be said that it was the military effort that forced Hamas to withdraw”.
