Israel continues to bomb Lebanon in the historical areas controlled by Hezbollah. Israel’s demand to stop bombing Lebanon is the complete disarmament of Hezbollah.
This demand was responded to by the vice president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, Sheikh Ali Damoush, who stressed that the cancer that is ravaging Lebanon and the region is Israel, along with America, a full partner of Israel in all the crimes it commits in Lebanon, Palestine and the region.
During the sermon on Friday, April 18, he stated that the main goal of the United States in Lebanon is to protect Israel and allow it to impose its control, achieve its goals and use it as a tool to subjugate and subdue anyone who opposes American hegemony in the region.
He stressed that Israel is violating the ceasefire agreement and attacking the Lebanese with full American cover to pressure Lebanon to comply with its demands, and its demands are clear: disarm the resistance and deprive Lebanon of its elements of strength.
According to Ali Damoush: “Whoever calls for the withdrawal of the resistance’s weapons before the Israeli aggression ceases and its threats are met is serving the enemy’s demands and identifying with it, whether intentionally or not.” “Talking about disarming the resistance at this time would contradict Lebanon’s interests and weaken the country’s position and strength in light of the Israeli occupation and its continuous attacks.”
Sheikh Damoush stressed that “the issue of disarmament is not on the table, and that what is on the table is that, after the enemy’s withdrawal, the release of prisoners and the cessation of attacks, the defensive strategy will be discussed at the appropriate time.”
He stressed that the priority today is not to discuss the issue of weapons, but rather to stop the aggression, expel the occupation, free the prisoners, rebuild, implement reforms and activate state institutions to fulfill their duties towards the citizens, without postponing any dossier or linking it to others or to conditions from here and there, and we will be effective partners at all stages with the government and parliament to achieve these priorities.
He stressed that instead of pressuring Lebanon and demanding the disarmament of the resistance, one should pressure Israel and demand that it implement the agreement and stop the attacks. He believed that this is the responsibility of the state, which must reject the idea of discussing the issue of weapons as long as there is occupation and aggression, and must exert pressure by all means to force the Israeli enemy to abide by the agreement to protect its citizens and preserve its sovereignty.
